The Role 

To provide customer service and enhance the USTA's image by following customer service policies and procedures

  • Respond to general customer inquiries, invoice questions, and customer complaints by phone, email and chat in a prompt, efficient, and professional manner
  • Respond to inquiries by researching and resolving problems related to transactions handled by the Ticket Office
  • Provide all guests with ticket access info, plan information, and mobile delivery
  • Skillfully interact with fans of the US Open and USTA Staff to provide a positive experience
  • Assist Ticket Staff with various projects. Projects may include:
    • tracking and reporting of ticket sales and/or availability
    • shipping through FedEx shipping system
    • price checking
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • Available to work for the full duration of the US Open tournament (3 weeks from August 19
    through September 8), including nights, and weekends and available to work 12+ hour shifts
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently and computer proficient to access/update
    customer records
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Maintain a positive, outgoing demeanor, adhering to the core expectations of our team at all
    times and possess ability to work as part of a team and get along with coworkers
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment and during stressful
    situations
  • Arrive for shift on time, neatly groomed, and in a clean, pressed, well-maintained uniform
  • Willing and comfortable working part of daily shift outdoors in various weather conditions in
    late August/early September
  • Personable and proactive in providing assistance to all guests with the highest level of
    customer service
  • Excellent communication skills with thorough understanding of written and spoken English

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a ticket office for major sporting event, team or venue
  • Previous experience working in hospitality, sales or in a call center
  • Bilingual is a plus, but not necessary
  • Knowledge of ZenDesk, Ticketmaster Archtics (or similar ticketing system)

 

Salary: $18 per hour; overtime eligible

$35 daily meal allowance during the US Open tournament (via credential)
