We are seeking a Fire and Life Safety Director who plays an essential role in the US Open guest experience. In this role, you will wear many different hats and have the opportunity to assist and deliver customer service to visitors and staff from around the world. Our team members genuinely enjoy interacting with people, know what it takes to provide excellent customer service.

 

Start Date: August 11, 2025

End Date: September 10, 2025

Must be available every day per week during US Open

The Role

  • Report to and work closely with the US Open Director of Security
  • Perform duties as directed by the US Open Director of Security
  • Work closely with the US Open Director of Security and the Command Center Director to coordinate safety and security programs during the US Open
  • Maintain all of the documents contained within the Command Center Drive.
  • Coordinate with IT EMS Support staff to ensure the preparation and accuracy of the following:
    • 24 Hour Recap Report for Incident Reporting (General; Fire & Life Safety; and Medical-Spectator & Staff)
    • Daily Executive Management Summary Report
    • Vehicle Access and Vehicle Delivery Procedure Training
  • Coordinate the set-up of all First Aid Stations, to include supplies and equipment needs
  • Inspects grounds, buildings, and other infrastructure to detect fire hazards in order to protect life and property on client site
  • Test and cleans equipment, such as air compressors, fire extinguishers and other fire protections devices to ensure conformance to fire and safety standards
  • Enforce fire and life safety standards and regulations
  • May perform other inspections, and safety duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • Possess event operations experience or Sports Business Management college course work is preferred
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn fire inspection operations, and procedures
  • Available to work for the full duration of the US Open tournament - 7 days per week
  • Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
  • Ability to be an effective team member
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with sensitive or emergency situations
  • Courteous telephone manner, and ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organizations
  • Good organizations skills, and ability to provide high quality customer service
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively as various social levels, and across diverse cultures
  • Position is considered onsite and exempt

Compensation: $425 daily pay rate.
