We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The Role

 

To teach tennis programs to a wide variety of skill and age levels, serve as an on-court ambassador, advocate and implement the R.O.G.Y., Net Generation, and USTA Player Development teaching methodologies. Additionally, to conduct private lessons, to be an effective liaison between the NTC and our customers, and to work within the organization during the US Open.

  • Demonstrating playing techniques at the very highest levels of play
  • Conducting Junior Programs throughout all three NTC Junior Pathways (i.e. 10U, 10-14, 14-18)
  • Conducting Adult Programs throughout all four NTC Adult Pathways (i.e. Novice, Bronze, etc.)
  • Demonstrate tennis drilling content for all levels of competitive play
  • Teaching, training and facilitating play with individuals and teams at all levels of ability, including private instruction
  • Assisting with the execution of USTA tournaments, leagues, and seasonal events as needed
  • Emphasizing on-court delivery utilizing NTC-department specific methodology, including junior lesson plans and adult themes
  • Pursue tennis industry education via USTA Coaching, NTC Pro Development Library, RSPA, PTR, and affiliated organizations
  • Promotion of the USTA via the dissemination of hospitality, friendliness and goodwill among members and guests.
  • US Open duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • Strong on-court tennis skills required as well as ability to effectively communicate and teach tennis to all ages and levels
  • Must have experience teaching high performance students
  • Utilize USTA Player Development Philosophy on court and off court
  • Able to organize and manage R.O.G.Y. tennis formats for teaching tennis to juniors.
  • Certification by USPTA and/or PTR organizations is required.
  • Position is considered non-exempt.
  • Full-time teaching professionals are expected to work no fewer than 35 hours per week, which will be a combination of private and group lessons with a small amount of time required for follow-up administrative duties 

 

This is an hourly postion with an expected income of $70,000 to $90,000 ($35-$45 per hour). The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
